This week was exciting! We had our sixth wedding anniversary, went to some fun sunflower festival, Avery had her two year old well child check, and we headed off on our vacation! We also experienced our first full fledged airplane meltdown. Which was an adventure. Work was also cool because I am starting to feel more confident in my role as a Family Nurse Practitioner finally. This weeks tips include: how to maximize your experience as a student, how I start talking about preventative screenings early, and more!
WORKING DURING NURSING SCHOOL
Can you, Should you, and The Best Jobs. In today’s video we will go over how much I worked in nursing school, some tips if you are going to be working, what jobs are better than others, and what to definitely avoid if you will be working during nursing school.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVERY!
It was Avery’s second birthday this week! And she took over the whole week with her celebrations. So we will go through those, and also show a few of my days at work as a Family Nurse Practitioner! This week we will be discussing how to help patients describe their symptoms when they are poor historians, and providers roles in healthcare as guides, not necessarily decision makers.
AVERY’S BIRTH STORY
A complicated first year. Prolonged hospitalization, feeding difficulties, lots of PT/OT, Colic, Breastfeeding issues, Exclusively pumping, Postpartum Depression, Failure to thrive, and Nurse Practitioner school were what marked Miss Avery’s first year of life. It was a bit of a doozy. In today’s video I go over her birth story and discuss the first year of her life and some of the complications that it entailed. She is doing SO well now and is a happy little lady. Having a baby in NP school was no joke. But we made it, and you can too!
