LEAVING EMOTIONS AT THE DOOR 🧥 VLOGMAS DAY 21
Its Thursday, so of course things went wrong! Which was unfortunate for a few minutes, but then became a great learning opportunity to show you how I turn my bad days around in 5 minutes so I can leave my emotions at the door and go serve my patients in the ways they deserve! As a nurse, and NP it is essential that emotions from home don’t come with you whenever possible so you can be focused, and provide safe and competent care! Over the years I have honed in on a method that works pretty flawlessly for me, and I thought I’d share!
TRANSITIONING FROM RN TO NP 🎁 VLOGMAS DAY 20
In today’s video we talk about transitioning from RN to NP practice. How it has affected my working relationships with physicians, MA’s, nurses, etc. I’ll also talk about how the role transition has been personally, and some tips for navigating it yourself. On a more personal note I run around town trying to find last minute Christmas gifts for the babysitter, and office staff. Shockingly I forgot about it until the day before it was due. Can you say procrastination at its finest? Yes I thought so.
MY APPROACH TO ANGRY PATIENTS 🍬 VLOGMAS DAY 19
In today’s video we will talk about how I talk with difficult or frustrated patients! It’s something I have had QUITE a lot of experience in during my years as a nurse and so far as a Family Nurse Practitioner. This topic was quite fitting as I had a difficult day at work, dealing with lots of unexpected unfortunate situations that had many people feeling frustrated and a bit “difficult”. At home, Avery had a bit of a rough day as well, but she’s cute, so there’s that. I also do my first unboxing, and go on the usual tangents.
