In today’s video we will talk about how to go about becoming a nurse practitioner without nursing experience. We will talk about direct entry np programs as well as piggy backing your np onto your nursing program. I’ll also answer the question “should I get experience before becoming an NP” and “would you recommend direct entry NP programs” as this is one of the most common questions I get!
This week I returned to work as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the first time since having my daughter 7 weeks ago. I’ll be returning to another month of maternity leave after this week, which I’m very excited for! We also went trick or treating for the first time with Avery and Piper!
In this video I’ll walk you through a basic health assessment of a newborn. We will cover the order I perform my newborn health assessments, any education I provide to the parents during the newborn health assessment, as well as anticipatory guidance I include during the visit during a newborn health assessment.
In this weeks vlog there is a life update, and a change in my plans to go back to work as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I’ll also take you along on the usual maternity leave antics as I’m on leave from my FNP job. We are in an epic search for a lamp, and are beginning to finally decorate our house. Avery will paint pumpkins again. Piper makes cute faces, and I randomly decide to give you a tour of a local thrift store. Thanks for following along, and have a great day!
