This week I got a ton of stuff done! And then got nauseous again. Bummer. I got some new responsibilities at work as a Family Nurse Practitioner and had to work on my delegating skills as I laid out some new policies that should help streamline some processes in the long run. I also had my nuchal translucency scan and finally updated the NP binder!

BEING A NEW NURSE IS HARD | LETS TALK ABOUT IT
Are you a new nurse? Feeling a little overwhelmed with this whole new transition? You are so not alone friend. The first 6 months of being a nurse were some of the hardest of my life. Talk about a crazy transition! In this video Iāll share with my experience as a new nurse and share some tips for navigating these months if you are in this yourself. BAKING BREAD AND A CAR ACCIDENT

Like usual, Iāll also take you with me as I navigate my week as a Family Nurse Practitioner. This week we talk about how I approach taking AWAY medications, particularly ones that can cause harm to older adults, how I de-escalate angry patients and approach that situation in general, and what itās like to have just not so hot days in general where I feel super overwhelmed because Iām still super new.
RN TO FNP TRANSITION | THE FIRST 6 MONTHS
In todayās video Iāll discuss an overall recap of the transition from experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to brand new Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Iāll discuss my biggest challenges I faced in the first six months as a new provider in primary care, some of the unexpected emotions I had, some of the things Iām loving so far, and some tips to make your transition to NP a little bit easier. My hope is that if you are feeling some of these things while you start a new role you will feel a little less alone! Hang in there. It will get better!
